FAQs

What are the best LED grow lights?

While LED grow lights are much more efficient than traditional grow lamps, all are not the same. You need to consider some key factors to choose the ones right for you. These include determining the required light coverage, what lifespan you want the lights to have, and getting a quality guarantee. The best LED grow lights are a blend of high-power, uniform spectrum, reliability, durability, and efficiency.

Can you grow plants with regular LED lights?

Technically, yes. Growing plants with regular LED lights is possible. However, it doesn’t make sure that your plants will grow efficiently and healthier. These lights do not have the sufficient light spectrum and colour that plants require for Photosynthesis. Therefore, to grow in a tent or indoors in a greenhouse, buying LED grow lights is the right decision.

What type of light is best for growing plants indoors?

Sunlight consists of a complete spectrum of light, including all the visible colors, from red to violet. Just like outdoor plants that grow in sunlight, indoor plants need full-spectrum light to grow healthily. The light should produce a balanced amount of warm and cool light that replicates the spectrum of sunlight. The full-spectrum light is excellent for seedlings, culinary herbs, houseplants, and other plants you wish to grow indoors.

How many lights do I need for my growing area?

It depends on various factors. These include the type of plants you are growing, the total coverage area, and the lighting efficiency of the lights. Once you have figured these out, go through the manufacturer specifications to determine the number of lights you would need. If the manufacturer provides light output in PPFD, that is the most accurate measurement for plants. You should go for 100 umol/m2/s at a minimum.
